Brace Yourselves – Freezing Weather From Siberia Is Headed Our Way

kaylawalsh

You might want to wrap up warm over the next week, as freezing winds from Scandinavia and Siberia are heading straight for Ireland.

The ‘Beast from the East’ will bring at least another seven days of frost, ice and possible snow, Met Eireann predicts.

Temperatures will start dropping tonight, and tomorrow will be cold and gusty with frost forming overnight in the east and north of the country.

Saturday daytime won’t be too bad – we’ll even have some sunny spells – but the night will again be icy cold with “widespread sharp frost”.

Sunday will see temperatures of just 4 to 7 degrees during the day, dropping to minus figures later on.

The wintry weather is set to continue into next week.

“High pressure over Scandinavia continuing to influence our weather,” said Met Eireann.

“It will most likely still be dry on Monday with some sunny spells but very cold for the time of year with daytime temperatures in the low single figures inland, and around 5 or 6 degrees on coasts.

“It may turn somewhat colder on Tuesday and Wednesday with wintry showers and moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds. Also nights are likely to turn colder with widespread severe frost.”
