Breaking: Irish Water Have Announced Nationwide Conservation Measures As Drought Continues

Jen

Irish Water has announced that a nationwide hosepipe ban will come into effect this week.

This follows a board meeting this afternoon that discussed the ongoing drought conditions.

While forecasts only extend into the next 10 days, Met Éireann has said no rain is expected in that period.

The high temperatures have already caused a number of gorse fires around Dublin with Dublin Fire Brigade warning people to take care.

Irish Water is asking people to conserve water in other ways as water sources continue to dry up like Lough Easkey in Co. Sligo.

Forget about washing your cars for a few weeks, lads.
