A man has been found lying unconscious on a Cork city centre street.
According to Independent.ie, the man, who is understood to be in his 30s, remains in a serious condition in Cork University Hospital. He was found lying unconscious on the pavement off Cove Street shortly before 3am on Sunday.
He is currently being treated for serious head injuries, while his condition is being treated as critical.
A full investigation has been launched.
It is still unclear whether the man was the victim of an assault or if he sustained the injuries following a fall.
