Gun Shots Fired At A House In Cork With Children Inside

It is believed that up to six bullets were fired at the front door of the house

A number of shots were fired earlier today at a house in Rathpeacon, County Cork that had a number of very scared children inside.

It is believed that up to six bullets were fired at the front door of the house in which the family were living.

Thankfully, the occupants had a miraculous escape and there were no injuries reported.

Forensic examinations are underway today.

A garda spokesperson said: 

We are investigating a shooting in Rathpeacon which occurred at approximately 1.30am when a number of shots were fired at the front door of a house.

There were no injuries reported and no arrests have yet been made and our investigation continues.

Gardaí in Mayfield are investigating and have appealed for witnesses who may have been in the area between 1am and 2am this morning to contact them at 021 4558510.
