One person has been rescued after a coast guard helicopter went missing around 10km west of Blacksod, Co. Mayo.
Three other people are yet to be located. The helicopter lost contact at around 1am this morning.

The person who has been located is said to be in a critical condition. Transport Minister Shane Ross has spoken of his concern as the search continues:
“This is an extremely difficult time for all concerned. As we await further information I would like to appeal for space to be given to the relevant professionals involved in the search operation to complete their work.”
According to RTE, wreckage has been found close to the last known location of the helicopter.
