The world of social media apps seems to be converging at a rapid rate, with all the major services starting to look like each other.
The latest update comes from Facebook-owned WhatsApp, which has just announced a bunch of features that will make it look very like Snapchat.
You'll be able to start using the new features, which rely on the front-facing camera, from today onwards on Android, while it's coming soon to iPhone.
As they say about the feature launches themselves...
Today we’re introducing new ways to customise and enhance the photos and videos you share with friends and family around the world. With WhatsApp's new camera features, you can now write or draw on photos and videos, as well as add emoji to express yourself.
When you capture a new photo or video or share one that's already on your phone, you'll automatically see the new editing tools. Whether you’re drawing a big red heart to show how much you miss someone or adding your favourite emoji - sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. Try adding text too, and change the colour and font style.
