Being quick-witted isn't exactly a neccesity if you want to become an international rugby star but it is a handy trait to have when dealing with the inevitable social media abuse that comes with the territory.

Take this case involving Ireland and Leinster legend Brian O'Driscoll. When Welshman Cory Hill was named captain of the Newport Gwent Dragons for the upcoming season, BOD was playfully reminded of the time he said he never heard of the 25-year old after he was called up for the British And Irish Lions tour of New Zealand earlier this summer.

BOD responded with perfect diplomacy along with a self-deprecating emoji thrown in for good measure.

All fun and games until another Twitter user declared Brian as "the world's most overrated rugby player."

To which BOD whimsically responded:

Check and mate. A warning for anyone else who wants to come at the second most-capped player in international rugby history.
