The cheapest places around the country to buy a home have been revealed for 2019 and they cost less than you might expect.

The Sunday Times 2019 property price guide that’s just been published found that Co Leitrim was the cheapest area to buy a property.

The average price for a three-bedroom semi-detached home in the town of Mohill comes in at just €90,000.

Next in line are Edgeworthstown, Co Longford and Ballymote, Co Sligo, where the average price is between €90,000 and €100,000.

The same report also found that house prices outside of Dublin are expected to rise more than double as much as those in the capital in 2019, by up to 7.7%.

Meanwhile, prices in Dublin are predicted to rise by 3.8% this year.
