What a moment for Irish sport.
Ireland have beaten New Zealand for the first time ever on Irish soil.
A Jacob Stockdale try was all that separated the two teams in the end as Ireland ran out 16-9 winners against the All Blacks.
Stockdale’s kick and go was enough to see him break past the NZ line, beating almost five opposition players and going over the line for the boys in green.
New Zealand came close on several occasions to getting a try of their own. The below was almost a certainty until Peter O’Mahony intervened at the last minute.

The final few minutes were intense but Ireland just did enough to force a mistake from the All Blacks to see the game out.
Ireland emptied the bench. They scored in the second-half when they really needed something special to separate the sides and they finally settled the demons from 2013 where they came so close but fell at the final hurdle.
Everyone on that pitch today gave a heroic performance and if you don’t believe that they didn’t leave every ounce of energy on the pitch tonight, just look at Cian Healy when he exited the pitch in the second half.

This redefines the phrase ’emptying the tank’. He’s literally gasping for every breath as he’s substituted off the field.
They’ve waited for that one for a long time and it’s finally arrived.
Well done, lads.
