It is expected that cigarettes will go up by 50 cents in the budget announced later today.
The increase will come in from midnight tonight.
On the upside, excise on alcohol will not change according to Independent.ie, so you don’t have to swear of the G & T’s just yet.
In other good news, we can also expect €5 a week more in our pay packets.
Minimum wage is also expected to up by 25c.
Apparently minimum wage is to go up by 25c to €9.80ph which works out at an extra €9.75 on a 39hr week. I wonder what extravagances they will spend their newfound largesse on? #Budget2019

Finance Minister Paschal Donohue is expected to announce the entire budget later today at around 1pm.
