Ireland has been enjoying a fantastic time at the Paralympic Games but things got even better last night, with a medal haul of two gold, one silver and one bronze.

Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal were overcome by emotion after taking top spot in the Women’s B Time Trial cycling event, just minutes after fellow cyclist Eoghan Clifford claimed gold in the Men’s C3 Time Trial.

This was his second medal of the games, having received the bronze for his outstanding performance in the Individual C3 Pursuit.

If that wasn’t enough, there was cause for further celebration when Colin Lynch took silver in the Men’s C2 Time Trial – with swimmer Ellen Keane bringing the day’s medal tally to four after her success in the SB8 100 metre final.

Ireland has now claimed a total of seven medals at the games, with Jason Smyth and Michael McKillop also bringing home gold.
