Drunk Irishman Fined For Urinating On Plane Seat And Harassing Crew

An Irishman has been fined £1,000 (€1,142) in a British court after urinating in his seat on a flight from Las Vegas to Gatwick, the Irish Independent reports. 

30-year-old Shane O’Grady from Waterford was arrested last Wednesday after being ‘persistently disruptive and intoxicated’  and ‘harassing flight crew’. Staff turned on the seatbelt signs in an effort to diffuse the situation but O’Grady became disruptive again when he saw that passengers were still allowed to use the bathroom. He then urinated in his seat before being given a sleep suit to change into. 

Police boarded the plane upon landing at Gatwick and arrested O’Grady who appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court the following day and was charged for being intoxicated on board an aircraft.

O’Grady pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £1,000 as well as £85 costs and a £100 victim surcharge.
