Tributes have been pouring in for the triumphant Irish rugby team since their historic Grand Slam victory over England on Saturday. The squad arrived back Dublin yesterday and presumably celebrations at the Shelbourne Hotel would have gone on long into the night.
Of course, one of the people on hand to greet the lads was Minister for Sport Shane Ross who took the opportunity to post a photo to Twitter of himself with Johnny Sexton and Rob Kearney.
All well and good, except for one thing. He referred to Rob by the name of his brother Dave…
Is this a very smart distraction tweet, now, no-one is ask why a Privet school in his constituency got 150k of public money for a hockey pitch. #shaneross #GrandSlamSaturday #Homecoming pic.twitter.com/6f6Nm8eWO1

Facepalm or wha? Rob took the gaffe well though and sent a cheeky response of his own…
You’re welcome Leo ????

Maybe just leave the congrats messages to other people next time, Minister Ross…
Oops! Wrong Kearney!! Last tweet said pic was Sexton and Dave , but it’s Rob. Kearney replied “Thanks Leo” ! Touché . Congrats again. pic.twitter.com/H6elYQEIE5
