A search under way in Canada for a 26-year-old Irishman who has been missing since last Friday after diving into a river.
The man was swimming in a river in the Beaver Creek area, which is about 260km west of Calgary in the Canadian Rockies, when the alarm was raised after he did not surface from the water, The Irish Times reports.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have contacted the missing man’s family and friends, and family members from the west of Ireland, where the man is originally from, are en route to Canada.
It’s understood the man has been living and working in Canada for some time.
