Ah, burgers. Does meaty goodness come in any greater form?
The Real Republic has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to deliciously decadent dishes. And we’ve picked out the very best places for you to check out on your next staycation.
Check ’em out.
1. Soho, Grand Parade
Burgers are the order of the day in Soho, and with 10 decadent dishes to choose from, it’s not hard to see why.
Soho cater to everyone’s needs with everything from fillet steak to light bun-less options to falafel burgers for the vegetarians.
Atmosphere is also deadly, with the service staff treating you like royalty from the get go.

2. Coqbull, French Church Street
Sporting everything from fresh chicken breast to succulent Irish beef to tempura cod, Coqbull has a menu that sorts the boys from the men in the most delicious of ways.
Low carb and gluten free options are also available, meaning you can dine with no guilt. Happy days.
3. Son Of A Bun, Maccurtain Street
Eleven absolutely mouthwatering burgers to choose from, each one more deliciously decadent than the last.
Son Of A Bun has a huge array of tastes and flavours, catering to protein lovers, light eaters and vegetarians, as well as unabashed carnivores.

4. Brick Lane, South Main Street
Brick Lane burgers are a thing of beauty. And they nail it every time by having a concise menu, all cooked to perfection.
Their blue cheese and gherkin is so mesmerising that you’ll feel like you’d actually dreamt it, and their halloumi, avocado and roast pepper burger is the most decadent vegetarian burger we’ve ever come across.
Like, ever.

5. Gourmet Burger Bistro, Bridge Street
With new and incredible chef’s specials changing weekly, Gourmet Burger Bistro nail it in terms of burger variety and flavours, with 12 burgers in total, ranging anywhere from lamb to falafel, to choose from.
Their home cut fries are a thing of sheer beauty too. As is everything else on the menu. And no, we’re not exaggerating.

6. Deep South, Grand Parade
Not a burger joint per se, but Deep South absolutely kill it in terms of sliders and hot dog buns. Their hand-crafted sausages are supplied by O’Flynn’s, who churn out some of the best bangers in all the land.
Think of it as the world’s most gourmet barbecue, with some of the best lamb you’ll ever, ever taste.
7. Hillbilly’s, Carrigtwohill
A Cork institution.
Rumour has it that every Corkonian takes a sacred oath to the Cork gods that they must consume a Hillbilly’s after every night out. And to be honest, we want to get involved.
Heavenly food for heavenly prices. Thanks be to burgs.
