Love them or hate them – they’re family.
They may drive you around the bend more times than you’d care to remember but that’s what brothers and sisters are there for.
Have a younger sibling? Some of these will be all too familiar..
1. You will NEVER win a fight
They’re cuter than you, more cunning and have that crying on demand thing down to a tee. Quit while you’re ahead and don’t even start that row over the TV remote. There will only be one winner and it’s not going to be you.
2. You’re responsible for giving them solid advice
They look up to you and therefore you have to be able to answer any question they may have about the big bad world. Make sure you pass on all your golden nuggets of wisdom.
3. You have to share everything with them
Sweets, clothes, money the list is endless and nothing is off limits. It’d be annoying if you weren’t so fond of them.
4. You always have someone to hang out with
All your friends have blown you off and all you want is someone to go to the cinema with, luckily you always have your younger sibling there. It’s an unwritten rule that they have to hang out with you, you’re older so that makes you cool…
5. You’d do ANYTHING for them
If anyone crosses your younger sibling they should know that no one is more protective than an older sibling. Nobody messes your pain in butt (other than you) and gets away with it.
6. They get everything as soon as you do
You begged for YEARS to get a mobile phone and as soon as you manage to convince your parents, your younger sibling manages to wiggle in on the deal too. Typical.
7. You have someone to tell your secrets to
Younger brothers and sisters are amazing at keeping secrets. Tell them your deepest and most embarrassing ones and you can guarantee they’ll take it to the grave with them.
8. They’ll get away with a lot more than you
You were the tester child, the guinea pig. Your parents will be a lot more easy going on your younger siblings and you just have to suck it up.
9. You secretly love being older than them
You’d never admit it to them but you actually love having someone younger to look up to you. After all, life would be pretty boring without them being around.
Having a younger sibling does have it’s upsides.
