Inner City Helping Homeless has launched its annual Christmas shoebox appeal, and it’s such a fantastic idea, we don’t know how we’ve never thought about it.Â
The homeless charity is calling upon organisations across Dublin to take part in the city’s biggest ever appeal.
They are calling on individuals, schools, businesses and colleges to come together and make Christmas 2016 a little bit better for Dublin’s homeless.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the charity will distribute boxes to homeless people around the city, as well as families sleeping rough in Dublin city along with those in hotels, B&Bs and hostels.
Here’s how you get involved
Get a shoebox. Fill it with any of the following:Â
- Warm clothing including hats, gloves, scarfs and underwear.Â
- Toiletries including toothpaste and a toothbrush, roll-on deodorant, soap and shower gels.Â
- Non-perishable foods including chocolate, sweets and cereal bars.Â
- Christmas cards and gift vouchers.
It’s that easy.Â
Collections for shoeboxes can be arranged by calling Inner City Helping Homeless at 01-8881804.
