Taxis are about to get more expensive.
Anyone who has tried to get a taxi in a major town or city lately will know it is no easy task. However, for those who do manage to nab one, there’s some bad news on the way, as Free Now taxis are about to get even more expensive per ride.
According to The Journal,
“From 11 January 2023 Free Now will charge a technology fee based on the transport method selected by passengers starting at €1 for a regular four-seater taxi.”
Taxis with more than five seats or more will have a €3 technology fee, and premium taxis will carry a €5 tech fee.
Before confirming a trip, passengers looking to book a taxi through Free Now will be made aware of this fee.
Cancellation fees for Free Now taxis are also getting more expensive, according to The Journal. There will now be a €10 cancellation fee instead of a €5 cancellation fee for the company’s ‘Reserve Fleet.’ If cancelling on a driver who is en route already, the cancellation fee will remain at €5.
These fees are set to come in on the 11th January.
