Sad News -The Big Tree Tavern Is Closing At The End Of The Year

The Big Tree Tavern on Dorset Street will break many GAA fans hearts as it is set to close later this year.

The iconic pub will be partly knocked down to make way for a hotel.

On Instagram, Mayo GAA banter posted a picture letting people know the sad news.

The post reads, "We have just learned that everyone's favourite GAA pub The Big Tree Pub is set to close at the end of the year and will be turned into a hotel.
We will be sad to see this iconic pub go but it just shows you that one season without Mayo fans is disastrous for business."

It's a sad day when an institution has to make way for another symbol of capitalism.
