Gardai are further investigation the circumstances of a suspected hit-and-run in Arklow, Wicklow early on Monday morning in which a man was killed.
The Journal.ie report that Declan Kelly, aged 49, was found dead on the Coolgreaney road just after 2.40am, with the gardai describing his injuries as horrific.
A second area near where the victim’s body was found has been sealed off, and a man in his 40s who presented himself at Arklow Garda station a short while after the incident is helping the gardai with their enquiries.
A blue Ford Mondeo car has also been taken for forensic examination, and gardai have a number of theories surrounding the mysterious death, including the possibility that a second vehicle was involved or if the victim’s body had been moved.
Gardai found significant items yesterday at an area around 2km from where the man’s body was found.
