Amidst the ongoing water crisis experience by counties in the North East of the state, hope came in the form of a Guinness tanker – which brought an astonishing 90,000 litres of water to villages in Co Louth.

According to the Irish Independent, the ‘silver bullet’ made three round trips to help to fill a reservoir near the villages of Clogherhead and Termonfeckin.

The drinks company reportedly offered the services of two of its 30,000 litre tankers free of charge to Irish Water to help aid the current water struggles counties Louth and Meath are experiencing.

Residents are this morning entering their nineteenth day without water as work resumes to repair a ruptured pipe.
