Health Minister confirms Easter Bunny is indeed an essential worker

The Minister for Health, Simon Harris, has assured the children of Ireland that it will be business as usual for the Easter Bunny this weekend.

With Easter Sunday fast approaching, kids might have been concerned that their annual delivery of chocolate eggs could be affected by the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Government guidelines currently mean that non-essential workers must work from home in a bid to halt the spread of Covid-19 in Ireland.

But Simon Harris has confirmed that, after consulting with medical experts, the Easter Bunny’s work is considered essential and he will be working this weekend.

Minister Harris tweeted: “Important news for children: Many of you contacted me & asked me to if the Easter Bunny was allowed work this weekend.

“I have checked with our top doctors & the good news is he can. But he has been contacted to remind him about washing his hands regularly & keeping his distance.”

What a relief!
