Here’s How Many People Watched Dean Rock’s Winning Point On TV

Sunday’s All-Ireland Football Final between Dublin and Mayo was the most watched broadcast on Irish television this year.

According to the Irish Times, the average viewing figure throughout the game was a whopping 1,137,500 with a peak audience of over 1.3 million tuning in to see Dean Rock’s winning point for Dublin in injury time.

80.65% of all those in Ireland who were watching TV at the time tuned into the action at Croke Park. A further 107,451 viewers logged on to see the game on RTÉ Player. 

Last year, Ireland’s Euro 2016 defeat to France was the most watched sporting event with an audience of 1.2 million.
