Enda Kenny embarked on his week-long trip to the United States this morning.
And while there was much controversy surrounding Kenny’s visit to see Trump and bring him a bowl of shamrock (over 38,000 people signed the petition against the trip), it has clearly gone ahead.
So here’s what he’ll be getting up to, according to The Irish Examiner:
Sunday
- Kenny will give an address in Philadelphia tomorrow
Monday
- Kenny will meet the mayor of Boston, Marty Walsh, and Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker
- He will attend celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s birth
Tuesday
- Enda Kenny will visit TF Green airport in Rhode Island for the official launch of the Norwegian Airlines flights to the US from Cork and Dublin
Thursday
- Kenny will finally meet Trump and has promised to express concerns over the controversial Muslim travel ban on the same day in which the ban is set to legally come into affect
- He will also meet US VP Mike Pence on Thursday
Friday
- Friday will see Enda Kenny take part in New York’s infamous St Patrick’s Day parade
- He will also attend an event to promote Ireland and all things Irish hosted by businessman Michael Bloomberg at Bloomberg Headquarters
Busy week, eh?
