This Was Ireland’s Most Searched Recipe In 2017

In a world that has become saturated with falafels, quinoa and guacamole, you might be surprised to know that the one recipe that us Irish folk searched for most this year was a classic, hearty meal. 

Despite the massive wave of new food trends, from vegan chicken to kale chips and coconut water, spaghetti bolognaise topped the list of the most searched recipes on Google. 

Yes, that’s right. It turns out us we just can’t say no to a good, old-fashioned spag-bol. 

In the list of top-trending searches, Hurricane Ophelia has officially was ranked as the most searched topic this year, followed by none other than President Donald Trump. 

Other popular searches amongst us Irish folk included Conor McGregor, the meaning of “covfefe”, how to open a coconut, and how to make slime. 

In terms of sports, the matches that sadly didn’t go our way between Ireland and Denmark, were also among the list of the most searched for topics in 2017. 

The highly anticipated McGregor vs Mayweather fight came in second place in the list of sporting events, while good ol’ Cheltenham came in third. 

When it came to movies, Dunkirk topped the list, followed by Stephen King’s IT. The recreation of Beauty & The Beast came in third place.
