A number of houses were evacuated last night following the discovery of an explosive device in a Drogheda pub.
Gardaí were called to the scene around 9pm, and an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team were called to the premises on the Chord Road shortly after, according to the Irish Times.
The defence forces team arrived at approximately 11:40pm, and left the scene around 1:00am.

A Garda spokesperson said: "No further information is available at this stage and investigations are ongoing."
