A Pretty Major Glitch On Daft.ie’s Website Will Be Of Interest To Those Buying, Renting Or Selling

Darragh Berry

An Irish property website staged an audacious guerrilla marketing stunt which has seen it take over the advertising slots on established property website Daft.ie.

PerfectProperty.ie managed to change its competitors advertisements to ones about ‘Perfect Property’ which stated that the website had ‘No Ads, Only Properties’ and it was time to ‘Search Smarter, Not Harder’.

The hacking caused Daft.ie to crash with the website showing a 500 error as seen below.

Dan Rogue from Rogue.ie – an associate with Perfect Property – told Lovin Dublin that:

I can confirm [Daft’s] website was down for approximately 1 hour between 1.30pm and 2.30pm today [Wednesday 31 Jan].

It was part of an audacious guerrilla marketing stunt but their ads should be back running soon also”

PerfectProperty.ie Managing Director Laura Pollard also added that: “We asked home-buyers and renters whether they were happy with the current property websites, and their resounding response was ‘no’, 98.5% of them said that they would use a new platform with a stronger customer-focused experience.

Daft.ie have not responded on the matter.
