Car accidents in Ireland are unfortunately an all too common occurrence – between drink driving, speeding, and other dangerous driving habits, the gardai have their work cut out for them keeping the roads safe.
An Garda Siochana took to Twitter last night with an interesting experiment: they posted a photo of a recent car accident and asked the public to vote on how they believe the incident happened.

Gardai gave four options for people to choose from, and the results were surprising.
Here’s what people voted was the cause of the collision:
18% – Drink Driving
12 % -Drug Driving
54% – Driver Fell Asleep
16% – Speeding
And the right answer? Yep – the driver fell asleep.
All options could cause something like this but the majority are correct. Driver told Gardaí they fell asleep. FCN issued. Tks 4 voting
