There was major delays on the N20 Cork to Mallow Road this morning after hundreds of live chickens were suddenly released onto the road.
RedFM report that an articulated lorry carrying the chickens was involved in a collision shortly before 2am this morning.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries, and it's understood that some of the chickens escaped and some died.
A number of other emergency services attended the scene, including the gardaí and the fire brigade.
