Gardaí have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered on a fishing vessel in Cork.
According to the Irish Independent, Paramedics and Gardaí were called to the vessel off Bantry Pier at 10.30pm on Friday night. The man is believed to me in his 30s and from Eastern Europe. It is understood the man was a crew member on the Irish-owned vessel.
Attempts were made to stabilise the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene before being transferred to Bantry General Hospital.
A post-mortem is scheduled to take place to determine the cause of death.
