Irishman Alan Corcoran is planning on swimming 500km in memory of his late dad Milo. Some of you may remember Milo as being the former President of the Football Association of Ireland.

Milo sadly died of cancer last year and he had previously suffered a stroke in 2011.
Now, Alan is set to embark the mammoth task of swimming essentially the length of Ireland in a bid to raise vital funds for cancer and stroke charities.
All in all, he aims to swim about 10 hours a day or as he puts it, “It’ll be a kilometre at a time until I get home.”
Check out his story in the video below:
Alan has previous for this kind of endurance and generosity as in 2012 he raised €15,000 by running 35 marathons in 35 consecutive days and donated the proceeds to the Irish Heart Foundation.
The aforementioned charity will again be a beneficiary of his upcoming efforts as will the Solas Cancer Support Centre.
