Katie Taylor Lets Slip Information About A Homecoming Fight And We’re Excited

Darragh Berry

The name Katie Taylor has been planted firmly in our brains since the early 2000s and she has given us some moments of pleasure throughout the years.

Since turning professional, Taylor has won 12 straight fights and remains unbeaten.

Five of those wins came from knockouts with the remainder coming from decisions and on March 15th, Taylor will be hoping to make it ‘lucky’ 13 when she comes across Brazilian Rose Volante.

The current WBA and IBF female lightweight champion has the chance to add one more belt to her name with a win guaranteeing her the WBO title too.

The champ-champ-champ, if you will.

At the moment, Taylor has been fighting in America and mostly in the UK as the female sport continues to grow at a rapid pace.

The main question that remains is when will Taylor get the homecoming she so richly deserves.

Well, in an interview with The Irish Independent, she said that it’s going to happen “one day.”

“The support I’ve had from English audiences has been amazing. They have taken me on as one of their own and the roar I get when I come out to fight is amazing.

“Obviously the dream will be fighting at home one day. I can’t wait to fight in Dublin, that is going to be amazing.

“I can’t wait for the day it actually happens, but for now I’m happy to be fighting in the UK and America and getting great support everywhere I go.”
