Leo Varadkar has given the strongest indication yet that people will be able to enjoy a drink indoors in pubs in July.

With outdoor hospitality set to resume on June 7, the next date everyone is waiting for when people will be able to socialise indoors in pubs and restaurants. Speaking today, An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said that he expects “indoor dining and meeting indoors in pubs” in July and that he hopes that things will be “relatively normal” in August and that “the vast majority of restrictions would be gone” by then.

From Monday, May 10 a wide range of businesses will be permitted to reopen, such as hairdresser and click-and-collect retail services. This will be followed by outdoor hospitality in June, with hotels permitted to serve indoors to guests from this time.
