PICS: Lidl Recalls Two Of Their Most Popular Products Due To Allergen Fears

Darragh Berry

You need to get rid of this if it’s in your fridge…

Lidl has recalled all batches of its cheese products from Irish stores because the allergens are not listed in English.

The cheese product, Milbona Cheese Triangles XXL 533g, has been removed because it is feared that customers may be allergic to some ingredients but won’t be able to tell.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland website states that “Lidl Ireland is recalling all batches which are not labelled in English of its Milbona Cheese Triangles XXL.

“The implicated batches contain egg and milk.

“This may make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of egg, milk or their constituents.”

Even the best before dates are not labelled in English making it impossible for customers to find out when it goes off.

As well as this, they are also recalling

Harvest Basket Kartoffel-taschen Spinat-Mozzarella, 600g and Harvest Basket Kartoffel-taschen Frischkäse-Kräuter, 600g.

All batches and best before dates are affected.

They are being recalled due to a distribution error as the product labels are not in English. Both products contain milk and this may make the food unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or constituents of milk.
