Lidl Customers Are Being Warned Over A New Text Message Scam

Zoe

Lidl Ireland has been warning customers about a text message scam that’s doing the rounds around the country.

People have already voiced their concern after being targeted by the latest scam that could seriously effect your phone – and bill!

The popular shop, with stores nationwide, have told people not to open the message as it could hike up your bill with crazy charges and allow malware or viruses onto your device.

A spokesperson said “Please be aware of a scam text message being sent around with our name on. Thanks for those who got in touch and let us know. It’s not affiliated with us at all and may be harmful to your phone or charge you!”

The official statement from Lidl continued: “Please do not open any texts that appear to have been sent by Lidl. As a company we don’t communicate any offers or information to customers via text so anything received via text message is most definitely a scam.”

“The only offers and competitions we run can be found on our verified social media channels, our app and website.” they explained.

If you’ve any questions you can contact them directly online or by calling their Customer Service team on 1800 201080.
