Met Éireann Has Issued A Rainfall Warning For Two Irish Counties Ahead Of Storm Helene

It's in place until midnight


A yellow warning for rain has been issued for Galway and Mayo today from 12 pm to midnight.

Between 25 mm to 40mm of rain is expected in the two counties.

The rain is a precursor for the expected Storm Helene which will make landfall tomorrow night. Helene is expected to bring heavy rainfall to most southern counties.

It will move quickly through the region, but

Storm Ali will follow quickly and will bring 130kmh winds and more heavy rainfall.
