Met Éireann Has Extended Its Weather Warning As Freezing Conditions Show No Sign Of Letting Up

Met Éireann has this morning extended its yellow weather warning as temperatures continue to plummet around the country.

The snow/ice warning was originally in place until Saturday but has now been extended to Sunday at midday.

The updated warning reads as follows:

‘Continuing very cold until Sunday with severe frosts at night and ice on untreated surfaces.

‘Some snow accumulations today on high ground over Leinster, Connacht and south Ulster. Tonight there will also be some accumulations of snow on lower levels over central and southern parts of Leinster and over east Munster.

Temperatures are expected to hit as low as minus five degrees on Friday night and minus seven on Saturday. Regular weather updates can be found here.
