A wind warning is now in place in the counties of Donegal, Mayo, Galway and Kerry as Ireland braces itself for a day of rough weather.
Met Éireann has warned the four aforementioned counties to expect gusts of 90 to 110km/h along coastal areas on Wednesday with ‘rain extending eastwards across the country to all parts during the morning’.
Atlantic coastal counties should be particularly wary with heavy bursts of rain and coastal fog expected to make driving conditions difficult.
Tonight, rain is expected to turn heavy with a risk of spot flooding. On Thursday, Storm Caroline is expected to pass over from the UK with wind warnings in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry.
