Fun’s Over – A National Rainfall Warning Has Been Issued For Ireland Tomorrow

James Fenton

Get the most of the sun if you’re out in it today because it’s looking like tomorrow will be miserable enough.

Met Éireann has issued a national status yellow rainfall warning for Friday which is all we need to kick off the Bank Holiday weekend. So much for heading straight to the beer garden after work.

The warning is valid from 12 noon until 10pm on Friday and reads ‘High intensity rainfall amounts in scattered thunderstorms during Friday, leading to spot flooding. As much as 50mm possible in a short time.’

Well, that’s just feckin’ marvellous, isn’t it? The good news is that the good weather is expected to return next week with temperatures reaching the mid 20s on Monday and Tuesday, just as the Bank Holiday finishes. Hurrah.
