New Cork bar crowned Bar of the Year 2023 at awards ceremony

Katy Thornton

A newcomer has taken the top prize.

Last night (Monday, August 21) the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road hosted the Bar of the Year 2023 awards ceremony. This awards night celebrates the very best bars all over the country, with one winning the top prize, the Bar of the Year, which went to Dublin spot Bar 1661 last year.

This year’s award went to Cork newcomer, Paladar, which was opened by the owners of Cask on Bridge Street in October 2022 – a huge congrats to them on this achievement, which is no small feat given they have been open for less than a year.

They also snapped up the Bronze Award for the best designed space, as well as Silver for best cocktail bar, and Gold for best newcomer.
