New George R. R. Martin Series To Be Filmed In This Irish County

George R. R. Martin’s latest series, Nightflyers, the television adaptation of the Game of Thrones creator’s sci-fi novella, is set to be filmed in County Limerick later this year. 

The 30,000-word novella, on which the series is based was originally written in 1980, is set in the same ‘Thousand Worlds’ universe as many of Martin’s other published works.

According to the IFTN, the new series set to be filmed in Troy Studios, Castletroy. 

It’s understood that both a pilot and season one will be filmed over a 16-week period in the Munster city, marking the first time the studio will be used to produce an international production.

Nightflyers is expected to draw a huge cast and crew of more than 500 people.
