Between the pandemonium of the Beast from the East and Storm Emma, we honestly couldn't have asked for a better summer.

But according to experts, the middle of September could be a rocky time for our little country as it it set to be hit with a storm "as strong as Ophelia".

Just to give you a reminder of the scale of Ophelia, there was average wind speeds of between 65 and 80km/h, with gusts of 110 to 130km/h.

The destruction that it brought affected all of Ireland but especially the south of the country.

It was the 16th of October, a day that will be hard to forget, and if this storm is to hit, it will come exactly 11 months after Ophelia.

The weather experts said:

“Over the next 14 days, we do not normally see the weird tropical cyclones as strong as #Ophelia form in this part of the Northern Atlantic with a central pressure of 943mb, as the same of the equivalent in Category 4 hurricanes.”

We'll have to keep an eye on Met Éireann's weather warnings nearer the time to see if we get that feared red alert.
