A new survey has revealed that over half of Irish people who are single and over 25 feel like they'll never meet their perfect match.

The study was carried out by online dating site, arealkeeper.ie and found that a startling 52% singletons feel like they'll never find love.

When it comes to dating, the survey found that men tend to be a little less fussy than women.

54% of men said they were more likely to date a smoker, 34% would quit smoking while 78% would travel and 55% would move house for their perfect match.

When it comes to women, 86% of women were more likely to date someone who was five years older and 68% would date someone who has kids themselves.

Remarkably, just 22% of those who are single and aged 25 and over use online dating channels in their search for love.

Don't give up hope yet folks - you never know what's around the corner.
