Gardaí were alerted yesterday morning.
A parcel thought to be containing €2 million worth of cocaine was discovered on an isolated beach in Donegal yesterday.
The package, wrapped in black plastic and rope was found by a walker on Ballyhiernan Beach Co. Donegal.
According to Donegal Daily, upon discovering the package the walker dragged it up the beach and tied it to a plank of wood to ensure it wouldn’t be washed out to sea again. The man then contacted Gardaí to let them know what he had found.
Early this morning, Gardaí were alerted to the discovery of a package at Ballyhiernan Beach Co. Donegal.
A half hour later, another similar package was found at Tramore Beach, Dunfanaghy.

Gardaí have confirmed that a similar package was found at Tramore Beach, Dunfanaghy a half an hour later.
The discoveries have spurred a wider search along the Donegal coastline, with a Garda helicopter securing the area in case other parcels are washed up.
A Garda spokesperson told Donegal Daily:
An Garda Síochána are currently investigating the circumstances of the discovery of a number of packages along the North Donegal Coastline.
The packages contain substance which is believed to be a controlled drug, subject to analysis and confirmation by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time”.
Gardaí will continue searching for similar packages.
