People In China Are Doing The Most F*ucked Up Thing To Tea We’ve Ever Heard

Sarah

Look, we like to think we’re quite adventurous when it comes to food. Raw beef? Yum. Fermented veg? We’ll wolf that down.

But there’s a new trend in Beijing that we – as tea gulping Irish folk – just cannot get on board with.

They’re only going and putting CHEESE in their cuppas. We swear.

The trend has been rising in popularity in South East Asian countries in the last few years, with one store, Happy Lemon’s, cheese teas “start with brewed black or green tea … and are topped with a creamy cheese foam made with whipped cream, milk and cream cheese, finished with a pinch of rock salt,” Metro reports.

Apparently it’s not like a strong blue cheese or cheddar flavour, and more like a cream cheese, but still, we’re not so sure.

The only dairy product we’ll be pouring into our hot brew is milk, cheers.
