PIC: Peter O’Mahony’s Lovely Gesture To This Fan After The Final Whistle Was Truly Amazing

Darragh Berry

There was a team of heroes on that pitch on Saturday in Twickenham and while we never like to single out one individual especially after such a team performance was put on display against England, one man has to get an extra special mention.

Peter O’Mahony broke away from the celebrations shortly after he had collected his medal and shared the delight of winning a Grand Slam with his fellow team-mates.

He went into the crowd to find one of Ireland’s biggest fans. The face paint was on, the jersey was being shown proudly and her outfit was topped off with a green, white and orange hat.

O’Mahony spotted her, gave her a massive hug and posed with her for a picture with the Six Nations trophy in tow.

It would be rude to exclude it after all… IT’S SO SHINY.

And just when this fan thought her day couldn’t get any better, this happened…

We understand where Rachel Malone is coming from because I think the entire country is jealous of her sister right now. Lifting the Six Nations trophy is something that most Irish people can only dream about.

But, O’Mahony handing her his medal to keep? We can imagine that that smile has been hard to remove off her sister’s face since.

A fantastic gesture by Peter O’Mahony, well done to you sir.
