The Central Statistics Office has released figures that show the mean prices of houses throughout the country by Eircode.
Dublin 4 was the most expensive area to buy a house in Ireland in 2017 with a mean price in D4 coming in at around €734,721.
In fact, the top ten most expensive Eircode areas were in Dublin with the least expensive Eircode in the capital coming in Dublin 10 at a mean price of €202,056.
The least expensive Eircode area in 2017 was Castlerea in Roscommon at €76,025.
This is ten times less expensive than that of house prices in D4.
Ballyhaunis in Mayo (€76,098) and Clones in Monaghan (€84,420) were second and third least expensive Eircode areas as revealed in the report.
