There were reports of multiple illegal gorse fires across Co. Cork, Co. Kerry and Co. Clare this weekend.
According to The Irish Times, approximately 10 to 15 acres of forestry was destroyed in the fires, some of which burned for over 24 hours.
At least fifty members from fire crews fought blazes on Friday and Saturday nights.
