PICS: Recall Of Granulated Sugar From Irish Stores Due To Wire Metal Fears

Jen

An urgent recall has been issued on granulated sugar due to the possible presence of metal wire.

The 1kg and 5kg packs of Whitworths Granulated Sugar with batch codes F201U81873 and FS02U81783 are being recalled.

The same product was recalled last week from Dealz stores over the same concerns

A statement on the Food Safety Authority website reads, “The FSAI has been notified of additional batches of Whitworths Granulated Sugar that are being recalled, due to the possible presence of small pieces of metal wire.

“The implicated batches were sold in Iceland stores.

“Consumers who purchased the implicated batches are advised to return the product to the store it was purchased from for a full refund.”

If you think you may have one of these batches, you can find and check the batch number on the top of the product.

Wire is the last thing you need in your tea.
