We all hear horror stories of crashes on the road and dangerous driving, but it’s often not at the front of your mind when you don’t drive yourself – including when you’re in a taxi.
Gardai in Cork City however, stopped a taxi on Angelsea St for a very concerning reason.
They found that the car was “in a poor state”, had no up-to-date tax and worst of all had two excessively worn tyres which could have potentially led to an accident on the road.

The local guards seized the car from the taxi driver and took it off the road.
Just goes to show you can never be too careful when it comes to travelling via taxi…
